The bandicoot slapped that answer down onto the paper and practically chucked his pencil halfway across the room. That one simple thing had prevented him from passing that quiz.

He sighed, resting his chin on the inside of his arm while he tried to figure out what to do with this mish-mosh of numbers. Most people found solving equations with variables on both sides pretty darn easy, but not Cris. His right hand opened up to let his pencil roll onto his desk, and to his horror, other people were getting up and turning their quizzes in, even Murray. The Crash Kids Chronicles Ch.4Cris's hand flew over the alarm clock as it screamed to let him know it was 5:30 AM; His head was buried underneath his pillow, and Murray on the top bunk just rolled over in bed. Aside from being tired, Cris didn't want to take his math quiz today—when he thought about it, it was possible to skip school—but their mother coming in to turn on the blinding lights and telling them to get up made his doom inevitable. Murray didn't mind getting up, he just didn't want to be around the nasty people at school.
